Monitoring Well Installation Work: Hamilton-to-Brantford Rail Trail
Starting October 5, 2026, a contractor working on behalf of the Minister of Natural Resources will be completing monitoring well installation work at the Hamilton-to-Brantford Rail Trail. The work is expected to take up to two weeks to complete.
The trail and parking lot will remain open during this time, and no impacts to public access are anticipated. Visitors may notice contractors and equipment working in the area.
Temporary Closure: Ball Tract
Beginning on Friday, September 25, 2026, Ball Tract will be closed to the public to allow for plantation thinning operations. This closure is expected to last approximately 3-4 weeks. Guelph Dam access road closure: September 21–25, 2026
The access road across Guelph Dam will be closed while a crane is onsite for planned maintenance work. The closure is scheduled for September 21-25, 2026. Pedestrians and cyclists will not be able to cross the dam while the crane is onsite.

Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area - Construction detour and access disruption: 2025-2028
The County of Brant is undertaking a multi-year road construction project that will create detours and access disruptions to Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area. Learn more on the County of Brant website.
Ongoing closure: Mill Ruins at Rockwood Conservation Area closed
The ruins of the Harris & Co. Rockwood Woolen Mill remain closed due to potential safety concerns.
