Temporary Closure: Shade's Mills Conservation Area – Mill Creek Pedestrian Bridge

Please be advised that due to high water levels, the pedestrian bridge at Mill Creek is closed until further notice. Access beyond the Toyota Way Trail is restricted. Trails on the north side of the conservation area remain open.

Conifer Plantation Thinning: Puslinch Lake

Please be advised that conifer plantations at Puslinch Lake are being thinned, beginning February 19, 2026. Heavy machinery will be felling and removing trees throughout the site. The property impacted by the work is closed to the public, and the public is reminded not to enter. The work is anticipated to pause on March 15, 2026 and will resume in the fall of 2026. Temporary Closure: Chesney Wilderness Area

Please be advised Chesney Wilderness Area is closed to the public to allow for plantation thinning operations. Signs are posted at the main entrance of the property to inform the public. The City of Waterloo is undertaking the reconstruction of Beaver Creek Road and Conservation Drive, that may create access disruptions at the Laurel Creek Nature Centre driveway. Learn more on the City of Waterloo website.

Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area - Construction detour and access disruption: 2025-2028

The County of Brant is undertaking a multi-year road construction project that will create detours and access disruptions to Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area. Learn more on the County of Brant website.

Ongoing closure: Mill Ruins at Rockwood Conservation Area closed

The ruins of the Harris & Co. Rockwood Woolen Mill remain closed due to potential safety concerns.
