Applications open for scholarships through the Grand River Conservation Foundation
The Grand River Conservation Foundation (GRCF) is offering two scholarships, valued at $4,000 and $5,000 each, for post-secondary students currently enrolled in an environmental field of study.
The McEwen Clean Water Prize, valued at $5,000, will support a student in their second, third or fourth year of a post-secondary program operating within the Grand River watershed that focuses on the protection, development and restoration of clean water resources. Preference will be given to full-time students who have attended programs at a Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) Nature Centre. To apply for the 2026 Murray McEwen Clean Water Prize, complete the Application Form. The deadline for applications is Friday, July 10, 2026.
The Allan Holmes Scholarship, valued at $4,000, will support a graduate-level student focused on applied research in the field of resource management. The scholarship was developed in honour and memory of Allan Holmes, who served as Chief Administrative Officer of the GRCA from 1991 to 2000. Applicants must be registered at a university located in the Grand River watershed. Preference will be given to students involved with a project or program that addresses the goal of a healthy and sustainable natural environment in the Grand River watershed. To apply for the 2026 Allan Holmes Scholarship, complete the Application Form. The deadline for applications is Friday, July 10, 2026.
