Community Open House at the new Guelph Lake Nature Centre

The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) will host a Community Open House at the new Guelph Lake Nature Centre on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., to celebrate its opening. 

The Community Open House will feature activities suitable for visitors of all ages, including guided nature hikes and interactive displays.  An adult must accompany those under 14 years of age. Refreshments will be available.

The new Guelph Lake Nature Centre is located within Guelph Lake Conservation Area. Event admission is free, and registration is not required. The Conservation Area day use fee will be waived for event attendees. Visitors are asked to consider donating to the Grand River Conservation Foundation to support the new Guelph Lake Nature Centre project. Donations will be accepted via electronic payment on site. The Community Open House will take place rain or shine. Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather to ensure a comfortable experience. Please note that in the event of severe weather making it unsafe to proceed, the event may be cancelled with little or no notice. If cancelled, a Service Disruption will be posted on the GRCA website.

This community event follows the official Grand Opening of the new Guelph Lake Nature Centre, which took place on Thursday, September 4, 2025. For more information about the Grand Opening, please refer to the September 8, 2025 news release.
