The 2025 Brantford-Brant Children’s Water Festival educates students about water
The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) in partnership with the City of Brantford and County of Brant, welcomed 1,400 grade 4 students from Brantford, Brant and Six Nations of the Grand River for the 2025 Brantford-Brant Children's Water Festival. The three-day event ran May 13 to 15, 2025, at Mohawk Park in Brantford, and featured more than thirty fun, interactive activities, each with a message about water. Activity themes included: water science, protection, technology, attitudes, and conservation.
“The goal of the event is to educate students about the importance of water and challenge them to think about what they can do at home, at school or in their community to conserve and protect it,” says Sue Brocklebank, GRCA Conservation Specialist and festival coordinator.
There was no cost for students to attend the festival thanks to support from community partners including the Brant Community Foundation, Brant Waterways Foundation, City of Brantford, County of Brant, County of Brant Public Library, Grand Erie Public Health, Grand River Conservation Foundation and MRC Wireless. More information is available on the festival webpage.
