Conestogo Lake Park is located in the heart of Mennonite Country. It offers visitors the chance to camp, boat, sail, waterski, canoe and fish on a y-shaped reservoir that stretches six kilometres up each arm. The reservoir is created by Conestogo Dam, which has a viewing area providing a unique vista of the river and surrounding forests and farms.
Camping |
Conestogo Lake conservation area will not offer overnight camping in 2020. Seasonal camping: Please see our seasonal camping page for information on seasonal sites. Alcohol and Cannabis: Alcohol is permitted only on registered seasonal campsites. Cannabis is permitted on seasonal campsites and in open spaces. Smoking of cannabis is not permitted near playgrounds or in the beach area. A total alcohol and cannabis ban is in effect on the Victoria Day and Labour Day weekends (Thursday at noon to Tuesday at noon). |

Fishing |
Fishing is excellent from shore or from a boat. You can try your luck at pike, perch, walleye, crappie and smallmouth bass in the reservoir. The Conestogo River below the dam has brown trout, smallmouth bass, pike, catfish and the occasional walleye. If you are fortunate enough to catch a walleye, please release it and inform park staff. Worms are available at the gatehouse and concession stand. |
Hiking |
The Picnic Shelter Trail passes through the park's wooded areas and takes about 20 minutes to walk. The map in the park brochure shows the trails. Avid hikers might want to visit some of the regional trails outside of the park. |
Cycling |
Cyclists can enjoy themselves on park roads. Please obey the rules of the road and, for your safety, wear a helmet. |
