Seasonal Camping

Seasonal camping is offered at the following conservation areas. Please note seasonal sites may not be available in each of these conservation areas every year.

Our Seasonal Camping Guide provides a complete overview of the rules and regulations for seasonal camping. We ask that all seasonal campers and applicants be familiar with the information in the guide, as well as Schedule "A" Licence Agreement Terms and Conditions, which contains terms and conditions.

There is high demand for seasonal campsites. As a result, seasonal campsites are offered annually via a lottery system in the fall.

Annual application process

  • Applications are submitted through our online application system between September 15 and September 30.
  • If you are interested in more than one conservation area, separate applications must be submitted – one for each conservation area. Only one application per household, per conservation area can be drawn.
  • Applications must be received no later than September 30.
  • For those who participate in the lottery, the draw will take place between October 1 and October 15, and successful applicants will be notified shortly after. Please be sure to check your junk mail folder.
  • A deposit of $1000 will be due between October 1 and October 22 to secure your site.
  • Previously evicted campers will not be considered in the lottery.

Note: Seasonal site availability changes year to year. Not all conservation areas have seasonal site availability every year.

Byng Island will be holding a Spring Seasonal Lottery on May 2, at 2:00 pm for our remaining open seasonal campsites.
Participants in the draw will be required to confirm their site via telephone within the 5 minute window before we move on to the next drawn applicant.
We recommend viewing the sites prior to the lottery, so that you are aware of the options when it comes to selecting a site if you are drawn. Anyone interested in participating in this lottery must send an email to byngislandconservationarea@grandriver.ca prior to May 2.
There are 10 sites available within our seasonal areas that will be included in the lottery (see chart below)
Riverview Blue Heron
Site 561 Site 575 Site 464 Site 472 Site 497
Site 569 Site 583 Site 470 Site 482 Site 498
If you require further information on the site parameters, please contact the park via email and they will be provided as soon as possible.
If you win a site in our lottery, the full payment for your seasonal campsite will be required by May 9. This will also be the first day your trailer may be moved into the Conservation Area. Your trailer will not be permitted to enter the park until full payment is made. You are permitted to bring in your trailer after May 9, if you so choose.
