About Us
Founded in 1965, the Grand River Conservation Foundation (GRCF) channels donations from individuals, foundations, groups and businesses to Grand River Conservation Authority projects.
More than $16 million has been raised to educate kids about the outdoors, restore vital wetlands that cleanse our water, provide habitat that promotes wildlife diversity and offer opportunities for people to simply enjoy their natural world.
The Grand River and its tributaries support about one million people. In the coming years, that population is predicted to increase dramatically. As we contemplate this growth, we must also consider the best way to maintain the balance between human prosperity and the health of our natural systems for the long-term sustainability of our people, wildlife, lands and most of all, our water.
Our Mission:
The mission of the Grand River Conservation Foundation is to support and advance the work of the GRCA in protecting, sustaining and promoting responsible use of the Grand River watershed.
Our Vision:
We envision a community that is connected, inspired and engaged in achieving a healthy watershed where everyone can live, work, play and prosper in balance with the natural environment.
The GRCF's charitable registration number is 11894 6045 RR0001. We are a proud partner of local community foundations in Brantford/Brant, Cambridge & North Dumfries, Guelph and Kitchener and Waterloo, with Grand River Conservation Funds at each.
