We have financial incentives of up to $1,500 for farmers to plant cover crops. Planting cover crops is an enhanced cropland management activity that helps prevent greenhouse gas emissions and increases carbon sequestration.
Project sites must be located within the Grand River watershed. The priority areas for this funding are:
In other areas of the watershed, please apply for cover crop grants through your local Rural Water Quality Program.
The program is undertaken with the financial support of the Nature Smart Climate Solutions Fund, a Government of Canada Department of Environment and Climate Change program, in partnership with Conservation Ontario.
