Species checklists
We use many sources of information to generate species checklists for our watershed. These sources include natural area inventory reports, environmental impact studies, online databases, species status reports, species recovery reports and local experts. In addition, our staff occasionally conduct biological inventories on GRCA land to help assess the effectiveness of restoration and enhancment actions and to help inform management decisions.
A variety of plants and animals have been reported in our watershed, including:
- 4116 insects
- 2648 plants
- 815 fungi
- 337 birds
- 283 spiders
- 92 fishes
- 81 mollusks
- 77 mammals
- 23 reptiles
- 20 amphibians
