The GRCA is a partnership representing watershed municipalities. The watershed includes 32 local municipalities (cities and townships) and seven regions and counties. In some cases, only a portion of the municipality is within the Grand River watershed. View a map of the Grand River watershed.
There are two First Nations territories within the Grand River watershed.
Although they are not members of the GRCA, the GRCA works with these First Nations communities on programs and projects of shared interest.
The GRCA is a member of Conservation Ontario. It provides support for government relations, policy and program development, research, education, building partnerships and other activities.
The GRCA is one of 36 conservation authorities in Ontario.
For information on other authorities, visit the Conservation Ontario website.
Conservation Authorities are governed by the Conservation Authorities Act, which is administered by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
