The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) is required to submit an implementation report for Water Management Plans (WMP) every five years as part of the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry (NDMNRF) requirements under the Maintaining Water Management Plans Technical Bulletin. The GRCA has three dams that require WMP’s – Shand Dam, Guelph Dam and Conestogo Dam. Implementation reports were completed for Shand Dam in 2018 and Guelph Dam in 2019. The Conestogo Dam implementation report was completed in July 2022.
The intent of the implementation report is to provide a status update on the WMP, provide transparency of operations and inform adaptive management considerations.
The Conestogo Water Management Plan was completed in 2005 with amendments in 2015 and 2018. There have been no amendments since this time. The implementation report and associated documents are available for review. Please note these documents may not be accessible to people with disabilities.
If you have any questions regarding the GRCA’s water management plans or the implementation reports, or you are a person with a disability and require a document in an alternate format, please contact Naomi Moore, Water Resources Project Coordinator at nmoore@grandriver.ca or call 519-621-2763 x. 2293.
