We sometimes dispose of, or enter into long term agreements for properties that do not meet the needs of the authority. For that to happen the GRCA board must first declare the lands surplus.
Land sales require the GRCA board approval and some may also require us to provide additional notification to other agencies.
Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry rules govern how conservation authority land sales must take place and how the public is consulted on dispositions.
NOTICE is hereby given that in accordance with Section 21(4) of the Conservation Authorities Act, the Grand River Conservation Authority is undertaking public consultation regarding the following potential dispositions:

The GRCA has been approached by a third party to install fibre optic cabling on the GRCA owned lands surrounding the Belwood Lake reservoir in Centre Wellington
The public comment period for this easement ended at 4:30pm on April 30th, 2023. No comments were recieved.

The GRCA has been approached by a third party to install protective equipment related to an existing natural gas line running through GRCA owned lands near Parkhill Road East and Water Street North in Cambridge.
The public comment period for this easement ended at 4:30pm on July 16th, 2023. No comments were received. The GRCA General Membership will receive a report at the August meeting.
