The Grand River Conservation Authority works with the provincial government, municipalities and others to monitor surface water and groundwater.
The information learned helps us to understand how the river and groundwater systems work as well as the pressures and threats they face. Water management agencies can use that knowledge to develop programs, policies and projects to protect and improve our water resources
The GRCA operates a network of gauges which measure water levels at key locations on reservoir, rivers and large streams. This information helps the GRCA forecast and manage floods.
For more information, go to the River data and Reservoir data sections of the website.
The GRCA participates in three water quality programs:

The GRCA participates in the Provincial Groundwater Monitoring Network. This is a program administered by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change in partnership with all 36 conservation authorities.
