All GRCA nature centres are currently closed to the public. Most of our public outdoor environmental community programs (including day camps, birthday parties, youth programs, Scout and Guide badge programs) remain suspended, and events have been cancelled. When new information is available, this page will be updated. Please subscribe to this page for program updates.
School programming is currently underway with limited school boards. It is being offered in a modified and/or virtual setting.
For more information about the impact of COVID-19 to GRCA programs and services, please refer our COVID-19 FAQ.
In the interim, our nature centre staff have put together a fantastic list of activities for those who are missing our in-person program offerings.
Our Nature Centres offer hands-on, curriculum-based outdoor education classes for students in Kindergarten through high school, including the Specialist High Skills Major programs. Programs can be either full-day or half-day.
Each year, we provide environmental and outdoor education programs to over 50,000 children from school classes, community youth organizations and family groups.
Our staff are trained nature interpreters with a passion for kids and environmental education.
Due to COVID-19, all GRCA Nature Centres are currently closed to the public. GRCA staff and some watershed school boards are working together to deliver modified and/or virtual outdoor environmental education school programs. The GRCA is not able to accommodate individual teacher requests at this time.
